Rank history and the Apple charts
Read the daily Apple charts across six storefronts, then follow one app's observed rank over time.

Chart pages read the latest completed snapshot. They never call Apple while you browse, so nothing here spends a refresh.
Choosing a chart
Four controls sit above the table, and every choice lives in the URL. A board you are looking at can be pasted to someone else and it opens exactly as you left it.
- Country. Six storefronts are collected: United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Brazil, Belgium.
- Shelf. Overall plus the App Store categories.
- Chart. Top free, Top paid, or Top grossing.
- View. Rankings, Gainers, Losers, New entrants, or New releases. Each chip carries the count of apps in that view for the current chart.
Grossing rank is a position, not dollars. It says an app out-earns the app below it on that chart, nothing more. The revenue estimate derived from it is explained in Revenue and download estimates.
Freshness
Next to the view switch, a coloured mark says how current the snapshot is: Fresh, Stale, or No collection. Hovering it shows the day the snapshot was observed.
On a chart's very first collected day the page says so directly: the first snapshot is in, and movement appears after the next daily collection. There is no baseline to compare against yet, so none is invented.
The table
One row per app, up to 100.

Rank, Downloads est., Revenue est., Rating and Released are sortable. Click a header to sort; click it again to flip direction. Rows with nothing collected for that column always sit at the end, in either direction.
Clicking the rank opens the app's rank history for the chart you are on. Clicking the app opens its case file, carrying the country, shelf and chart type with it, so the case file's chart-rank card shows the same chart you were reading. Apps that are not in the catalogue link out to the App Store instead.
Beside the table, three panels summarise the board: the mix of categories on it, how old the ranked apps are, and the current leader of each shelf.
One app's rank history
Open a rank from the table, or use Open case file in reverse from /apps/rankings/<store id>.
The page opens on four tiles, all observed:
- Current, the latest collected rank and the day it was collected, with its movement.
- Best and Worst, each with the day it happened. Ties keep the earliest day, which is when it first happened.
- Observed days, how many days this chart has held the app, with the first and last dates.
Below them, the rank line itself. When enough observations exist you can switch the window between 7 and 30 observations.
At the bottom, Across storefronts lists the same app's most recent rank in every other collected country, each with its date.
Two things the page says out loud:
- Ranks are observed positions, and lower is higher.
- An app that has never appeared in the selected chart's snapshots shows "No rank collected yet". That is not a rank of zero and not a claim about the app.
How the collection works
Apple's ranking feeds are collected on a rolling daily schedule rather than all at once, which is why a board can read Stale for a shelf that has not come around yet. Reading a chart never triggers collection; it serves what is stored.
